Dr. Touhidul Alam (Senior Member, IEEE; Life Member, IEB-BD) is an active researcher in antennas, RF and microwave engineering, electromagnetic wave propagation, and metamaterial and metasurface-based device design. He has authored more than 95 peer-reviewed journal papers, 32 international conference publications, and 10 book chapters, contributing to the advancement of compact antenna structures and innovative electromagnetic devices for modern wireless and nanosatellite communication systems. His research exhibits significant scholarly impact, with approximately 1,941 citations and an H-index of 24 in Scopus, while Google Scholar reports 2,394 citations and an H-index of 26 (as of 2025). Dr. Alam’s works are published in leading journals under IEEE, IET, Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, and Nature Publishing Group, and have been presented at major international conferences across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He received his Master’s degree in Space Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2015 and his Ph.D. in 2019 from the Center of Advanced Electronic and Communication Engineering, UKM, where he was awarded the Excellent Thesis Award. He previously earned the Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal for his B.Sc. Engineering degree. Dr. Alam began his academic career as a Lecturer at IIUC in 2012, was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2015, and to Associate Professor in 2020. From 2021 to 2025, he served as a Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the Space Science Centre (ANGKASA), Institute of Climate Change, UKM. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU), Bangladesh. His research interests include compact antenna performance optimization, metamaterials and metasurfaces, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and microwave imaging for biomedical and environmental monitoring. He has led or contributed to 15 funded research projects and holds two granted patents with two additional patents filed. His work has received best paper awards, innovation awards, and academic excellence distinctions. He currently supervises postgraduate research and collaborates with international research groups in advancing next-generation communication and sensing technologies.
